Shortline Lake was built in 1982 in Elk Grove, California. It was the dream of Will & Elaine Bush and Jim & Kathy Bristow. On July 7, 1982, Will Bush, was the first skier to touch the serene waters of the future record tournament site. Shortline Lake sits on 45 acres. There are 5 homes sites – Bush’s, Canepa’s, Detrick’s, Goldman’s and Joe & Brandy. Shortline Lake has been host to hundreds of local tournaments, Western Region Championships (’93 & ’96), Collegiate Regionals, Nationals and National All Stars, Disabled Regionals (for the past 25 years), Disabled Nationals, 2015 IWWF Disabled Water Ski World Championships and many USA Water Ski / AWSA Towboat tests to name a few.
